The beginning of a beautiful story. After his return from France with his two children, Albino da Costa and his wife Rosa Ribeiro, in 1992 he materialized his passion for the professional beauty industry in the constitution of Cosmenatura, starting with the area of aesthetics, cosmetics and perfumery.
Everyone deserves access to the best professional beauty products. In 1993, after the success of the first year of work, and the ambition to expand to the whole of Portugal, translated into the partnership with our first customers in the Algarve, Trás-os-Montes and other more distant regions at a time when communications and transport routes were far less developed.
The quality and variety of imported products leaves no room for doubt and in 1994 the structure of Cosmenatura's first logistics center was created in Avintes, with 1200m2, to increase the ability to respond quickly to all customers.
In 1999, another huge step was taken for the company's growth with the signature of the exclusive distribution contract for Lisap Milano, technological leader in colorimetry, and our first brand of professional hair products.
With hair cosmetics representing our fastest growing business area, in 2004 the project and the first Cosmenatura education center were created in the center of Porto.
New decade, new life. In 2010 we moved to our current headquarters. In its more than 1600m2, the new intelligent and environmentally friendly building houses offices, warehouse, showroom, and training centre.
Already with a strong presence in the hair cosmetics market, 2012 was marked by the signing of the exclusive distribution agreement for Paul Mitchell, the #1 brand of professional hair care products in the United States of America, cruelty free from day one!
In 2013, we reached the historic mark of 50 employees and 20 sales consultants, which allow us to always provide the best possible service to our customers, from the back office, to the warehouse, sales and education team.
In December 2017, we completed a quarter of a century full of successes and joys that we will mark during the following year. We ended the celebration of this important historical milestone with a great celebration of 25 years, at Alfândega do Porto in the company of employees, partners and customers.
Although we already worked with partners in the furniture area, in 2019 we started the exclusive distribution of BeautyStar, a brand of the Maletti group, the largest in its area worldwide. This new partnership allows us to take a new multi-disciplinary approach in helping to create functional, profitable salons capable of generating memorable experiences for customers.
2020 was a year marked by more sustainability. The installation of solar panels in the main building allows us to have an annual energy saving of 50%. We started the conversion of the car fleet with the first 6 electric vehicles.
